Today, Soldiers of The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" joined with hundreds of governmental and military leaders as well as Family members of those killed in the attack on the Pentagon ten years ago. Celebrating the 4th of July With a Big Dose of Army Strong

The U.S. Army Field Band, the Musical Ambassadors of the Army, were in Boston to celebrate our Nation's 235th birthday. A group of men from the Soldiers' Chorus spent the afternoon with over 38,000 in attendance at famed Fenway Park. They started the festivities off with a terrific rendition of the National Anthem. The U.S. Army Field Band's Spring performances are moving down the West Coast into Northern California. The local American Legion Color Guard presented the Colors in Red Bluff. About Me:
I have probably the best job in the Army. I get to command The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own," the Army's premier musical unit responsible for performing at national and international events in the Washington, D.C. area and around the world. Our Soldiers's most sacred duty is performing final honors at funerals in Arlington National Cemetery. They also regularly perform at The White House. I started my Army career as a Private in 1977 and after getting promoted a few times became a warrant officer. This means I'm on my 14th (and last) rank which might be close to a record. My daughter is a ballet soloist and instructor in Los Angeles and the mother of the cutest grand-daughter in the world, Harlee. The best thing about my job is getting to work with the finest musicians in the world who are all proud to be Soldiers representing Soldiers.
