Summer Concerts in the Park

August 23, 2010

The month of August finds the Soldiers of The U.S. Army Field Band, the Musical Ambassadors of the Army, entertaining thousands of Americans in the Mid-Atlantic region, working out of our headquarters at Fort Meade, MD.  The Fort Meade Summer Concert Series kicked off with a performance by America's Big Band - the Jazz Ambassadors.  The weather was hot and the sun was bright, but nearly 500 people came out to hear this great big band.

MSG(P) Jeff Lopez (Bass) and SFC(P) Tim Young (keyboards) are members of a terrific rhythm section.

MSG Marva Lewis finishes the concert with a rousing patriotic song.

There will be more pictures soon from concerts featuring the other performing groups of The Army Field Band.  Follow their schedule at http://www.ArmyFieldBand.com and catch more pictures, video, and sound clips at http://www.facebook.com/fieldband.

    Steve -

A component of The Army Field Band will be in that region in Spring 2011. You can track that at http://www.armyfieldband.com/pages/schedule/sched.html . You can also join our mailing list. Army Bands Online lets you search for all performances by state (http://bands.army.mil/webschedule.asp).
