The Final Concert Was a Blast

September 2, 2010

The finale of The U.S. Army Field Band's summer concert series at Fort Meade was a real gala affair.  It featured The Volunteers, America's Big Band - the Jazz Ambassadors, the Soldiers' Chorus, and the Concert Band.

MSG Laura Lesche, SSG Meghan Whittier, and SSG Pamela Terry sing songs from the World War II era.

The weekend also marked the annual gathering of Field Band alumni and many of them sat in during the concert.  MAJ (Ret) Sam Fricano, COL (Ret) Bill Clarke, COL (Ret) Jack Grogan, all past commanders, served as guest conductors.

The finale was "Overture 1812" and featured the guns of the Presidential Salute Battery from The Old Guard.

The Soldiers of The U.S. Army Field Band will be performing all around the world in the month of September.  Follow them on http://www.facebook.com/fieldband.
