Soldier Blog Post

First time blogger from a third time deployer.

December 15, 2010

My name is Staff Sergeant Baker, William. I am a Cavalry Scout (19D) assigned with B-Troop, 6/4CAV, 1st Infantry Division. I will soon be deploying to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. I have previous deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan already and I hope to use what I have learned during this deployment. Through this combat rotation I will provide insight on the good, the bad, and the ugly. If anyone has any questions you can feel free to send me a message and I will do my best to respond to you ASAP.

Im sorry to hear the misfortune for your family. That is an instance in which noone expects to happen. While his job might not be dangerous and well away from the front lines there is always that chance of indirect fire. I know it is something that people don't want to hear and is often not publicized. I wish I could put you at rest for the remainder of his deployment but that will not happen until every Soldier returns from combat. Thank you for your blessing and your families support the military
