The Army has alot of history and tradition but I have to admit it gets lost in the day to day life of being a Soldier-a leader. As I walk into the day of IPRs, briefings, and updates, I do not revel in the study of warfare or the insightful quotes of Thucydides. Maybe that is what I should be reading during lunch, but I think not. A nap is more essential to finishing the day strong-if I take a lunch. So here at Intermediate Level Education (ILE), I have the opportunity...read more

Recently SPC Bell and I decided to see how well our dentistry skills stacked up in other areas of the dental clinic...like carpentry. Although we have a new clinic being built - we have some things that have to get us by until we move. One of those items were our chairs in the waiting room. We had some not so flattering comments about the "esthetics" of our waiting room and decided to do something about it. Many of our chairs had springs, wires,...read more

As we do every year in November (and March), the JAG Corps recently closed another application window for folks interested in becoming Judge Advocates or summer interns. In a previous assignment (way back when, when I first started writing here at ArmyStrongStories), I used to manage our Field Screening Officer program, the group of officers we send out to law school campuses to interview applicants. Since leaving that assignment, I really had been a bit out of the recruiting...read more

Monterey-Now that Ihave finished the formal part of my language training, I intend to write more frequently in this forum. The end came...read more
