I know many of you out there have been assigned to an overseas location and they can be challenging, but they can also be a great experience. Being stationed here in the Netherlands has and will give my family and I the chance to travel to many places that we would have never been able to. Looking back in my career I have to say that my highlight was back in September of 2001 after we got attack by terrorist. We all know what took place in 11 September 2001, but what many failed to capture first hand is everything that happened afterwards. From 13-17 September, the Lawton, OK Recruiting Company of the Oklahoma City Recruiting Battalion, 5th BDE, USAREC partnered with Habitat for Humanity. Recruiters and Future Soldiers took time out of their extremely busy schedules to conduct a blitz build of a five bedroom home in Lawton, OK. Had an awesome time @ the 2010 AAC Senior Leaders Conference in New Orleans, LA . It was great meeting new/interesting people. Made alot of new friends and seen different places. The Main Theme about the Conference was "Telling the Army Story". Too many times when I watch/listen to the news about the US Army, 9 out of 10 times its a negitive story, because negitive stories sells & gets ratings.
