I am really excited to start this blog and share what life is like at West Point! Spring is a busy time of year for the band, we are transitioning from our chamber music duties to some big events with the Concert Band, and supporting the cadet graduation activities. Want to see yet another rendition of the National Anthem by Soldiers? Click here to see The Volunteers of The U.S. Army Field Band. Of course, most of the time they are rocking hard, like in this video shot at COB Basra in Iraq.

Are you tired of National Anthem singers who turn it into "all about them?" Would you like to hear it sung by someone who really understands what it stands for? If so, check out this Soldier.

On February 8th, members of the Soldiers' Chorus of the United States Army Field Band presented Act I of Mozart's famous opera Così fan tutte. The venue was the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. He was even in the audience when I graduated the Army Bandmaster Course. COL Hamilton hated early mornings but loved the Army and making music. I loved finding...read more

Each Army unit usually carries with it a motto or song that describes what it does, what it is proud of, and what makes it unique. This is especially true where I work in Alaska. We are "Arctic Warriors". Many years ago my colleague Chief Warrant Officer 5 Aaron Graff penned this simple march, Keepers of the Northern Watch. It's words ring with each of us everyday and the song is song by all of your Arctic Warriors at the conclusion of all of our...read more

Here he leads the band as SSG Christopher Blossom presents a jaw-dropping performance of Ingolf Dahl's Concerto for Alto Saxophone. The packed...read more
