Recruiters from the Washington RS are working with Washington HS to help them provide uniforms for their JROTC cadets. Washington's JROTC program is not fully approved/funded yet. They provide one class, which currently has 12 cadets in the interim. This effort has the support and attention of state Senator Brian Nieves and his Chief of Staff, Dave Bailey.

Joplin Recruiting Company will conduct a Future Soldier tour at Fort Leonard Wood for 40 Future Soldiers and referrals. Drill Sergeants greets the group and leads them on a tour of training facilities such as the EST and a chance to see what their living conditions will be like during Basic Training.
