Hello, Im with the Rocket Battalion ROTC program and we recently had a FTX in which we conducted a night land navigation course. The course was set up with the regular 5 points and to pass you had to get 3/5. When the event started it was kind of still light out, but as it progressed darkness spread and you could see so many stars including Orion's belt, The big dipper, and Taurus. What does a Force Management Officer (FA50) do? In a nutshell Force Management Officers help manage change within the Army. The difficulty mostly lie in the power of soft persuasion as we tried to encourage behavioral changes in the operational processes used by our Iraqi counterparts who were slow or hesitant on the uptake of new ideas. My father also experienced these same issues when he was a MAC-V advisor in...read more

I came to the ROTC program from active duty with the Green to Gold Active Duty Option Program (ADO). This program allows enlisted members of the Army to have an opportunity to go back to school, complete their degree, and return to the Army as a Commissioned Officer. With the ADO, I continue to receive the pay and entitlements I had while serving with an active unit, and my duty station is at the school of my choice. The selection process for this program involves creating a packet that is...read more
