Arm yourselves Nebraska Alumni, students, and fans. It's Big XII Championship time! Yes, this a completely unrelated to the Army post but ummmm I love college football! Taylor Martinez, you best kill it as quarterback. Cody Green, you best be ready as well. Niles Paul, please catch the dang football. Bo Pelini, you would have made a great Drill Sergeant. Continue on. Nebraska Cornhusker Football Team...I simply adore y'all and can't wait to...read more

I've been a graduate of MI BOLC for two weeks now. What have I been up to now that I am not stressed about the state of my existence 24/7? For starters... - I finally had a date night with my husband only to poop out around 9 at night because, well, that's my bedtime. I really tried to stay awake at the wine bar, I swear! - I cooked an entire Thanksgiving meal from scratch to include rack of lamb (for the meat eating husband of mine), sweet potato fries, glazed carrots,...read more

Periodic monthly PTSD bulletin from National Center for PTSD at VA
December 1, 2010
By: Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Kubiszewski
Trying to find, much less remembering all the possible sources of reliable PTSD and combat stress materials can be overwhelming. The NCPTSD remains one of the best. The November on-line bulletin contains excellent coverage on the impact of chromic combat related stress on our growing aged population. Without treatment along with active community support, these issues do have a serious impact on people's quality of life for years. Consider subscribing to this on-line resource at:...read more

This is my first Thanksgiving with my husband. It's also the first time I am making the entire meal myself and I am loving every single moment. As the lamb is marinating and the sweet potato wedges are baking in the oven, I find myself remembering how much I have to be thankful for. This past year has held many changes and challenges but I would never change a thing. I got engaged and married my Mr. Perfect and our marriage is proving to be my greatest...read more

Thanks to all my fellow servicemembers for a job well done. Thanks to our families for your love and support. We love you more than you'll ever know. YOU are the reason. Thanks to our American brothers and sisters for all you've done for us, too. Thanks to the Almighty for the blessings of freedom and liberty. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving. Eat a lot of turkey for me, but don't go too crazy. I'll write after my own upcoming...read more

Agh, It's been a while since I've written, but, in my defense, I've been on leave for the last four weeks. My wife and I welcomed our first child in late October, and my entire life has been turned upside down...in a good way! I am humbled and thrilled (and a little bit scared) to be a dad, but I can't wait for the adventures and the experiences that await me and my wife. Not to propagandize the issue, but the Army is a great support to parents. Even though...read more

One more day. Just one more day of class. One last briefing. One last time sitting in a windowless, locked room with horrible florescent lights. HOOAHHOOAHHOOAHHOOAHHOOAHHOOAHHOOAHHOOAHHOOAHHOOAHHOOAHHOOAH It's now time for me to gather all my gear (where are those magazine holders?!) for turn in, prep my Class As, hand over all my textbooks (some where never used, go figure), finish clearing with Finance, sign my 1059, and get this graduation show started! I'll...read more

New shift, new CPT. Said CPT took a three hour breakfast break on what turned out to be a 7 hour shift. I took a 30 minute break and got reamed for it. Seriously? I think I just mentally PSC'd the heck out of here.
