All I have is three words for the Atlanta Classic FAMU vs TSU is "OH MY GOODNESS". I had such an amazing time this weekend working the Army Strong Strength and Actions Booth during the tailgate party. Even though the day was very hot the turn out of FAMU and TSU football fans was incredible the Orange and Blue was well represented. Everyone of all ages show how Army Strong they were whether it was climbing the rock wall or doing push-ups either way everyone...read more

I had a blast this past weekend at the Southern Heritage Classic in Memphis, TN. I had the chance to meet with 20 Future Soldiers during the tailgate party before the game Jackson State vs Tennessee State. I had the pleasure of doing some Drill Sergeant duties, teaching a little Drill and Ceremony to the Future Soldiers before receiving coins from MG Jones. I was thrilled to march these 20 Future Soldiers on the field of the Liberty Bowl Stadium to be sworn in by MG Jones....read more

Today was my first day at the New York State Fair, and I had a blast. The Army Strong booth was very busy today with everyone up for the challenge of doing push-ups and pull-ups. It was amazing how much positive energy everyone had from the oldest to the youngest. At the end of the day the best reward of all was presenting someone an iPod for being Army Strong.

My first impressions of a war zone were filled with myths and innuendos. The tales of insurgent fighters running through the Middle East is something that reads like a movie screenplay. Action packed films like Lawrence of Arabia, Platoon and Hurt Locker depict good guys fighting bad guys in distant lands was imprinted in my mind. The chance to fight for your country and execute years of training is a Warrior’s dream. The worlds’ wars have changed since September 11, 2001. Failed states...read more

Frustrated Cargo My journey began in mid-December 2009, trying to get home for a Rest and Relaxation (R&R) break from Afghanistan. How difficult could it be to get back to Washington, DC to my family? I was wrong. My first leg started in Bagram, Afghanistan and I was prepared to spend one night in this bustling Metropolis. My day consisted of sleeping, eating, exercising and making a roll call for this phantom flight. It appeared that Kuwait could only handle 100 personnel per day and I...read more
