Article 1 of the Code of Conduct states: “I am an American, fighting in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.” Since I first took the Oath of Enlistment in 1987 and subsequently the Oath of Office, I have never doubted my willingness or preparedness to live up to that statement. I have fought in Iraq during three deployments, have been wounded in combat, decorated for valor, and am heading to Afghanistan later this...read more

It was less than two months after the events of September 11th, when the Group Commander called me into his office. “Joe, how would you like to command another Detachment?” I had been working a desk job for almost seven months and it was killing me. My peers were on their...read more

I have been back at Fort Bragg for some time following 2 1/2 years growing our Army in the Greater Philadelphia and New Jersey area. It is great being back in Special Forces and back at mighty Fort Bragg. So much has changed in the 4 years that have past since I was last assigned here! The Army is clearly investing in FT Bragg as they have new barracks everywhere, FORSCOM 4 Star HQs being built, and plenty of Soldiers. I went to Camp Mackall where they train our...read more

Strengthening Our Community and Our Army Together
March 31, 2009
By: Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Tuczak

One unique aspect of this experience was that, for the first time in my lengthy career, I truly did not live on or near a major Army installation. Not to degrade FT Dix, FT Monmouth or Picitinny Arsenal, New Jersey but, they just...read more
