On 19 January 2011, The United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps performed for the President of the United States and the President of China on the South Lawn of the White House. On 18 June 2010, The United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps held a joint musical performance in the Pentagon Courtyard with The United States Army Military Academy "Hellcats." On 7 June 2010, Chief Warrant Officer Frederick Ellwein became the 4th Commander of The United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps. Chief Warrant Officer Gregory Balvanz, the fife and drum corps out-going Commander, relinquished command to an audience of friends, family and members of the military community. On 13 March 2010, The United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps packed its bags and headed north to Monroe, Michigan to participate in the 15th Annual Freezer Jam.
