About Me: Dr. Swain is a 2006 graduate of Capella University. He has a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education with a specialization in Instructional Design for Online Learning. Dr. Swain also has a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design for Online Learning from Capella University. His other academic credentials include a Masters in Educational Administration from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Masters in Military Science from the Army War College at Carlisle, Pennsylvania. For his undergraduate work, Dr. Swain earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a minor in Psychology from the University of Maryland. Dr. Swain is a life-long learner and has completed the requirements of the Defense Leadership and Management Program for the Department of Defense. Dr. Swain has thirty-five years of experience in Federal Service. His current position is the Deputy, Curriculum Development Division in the U.S. Army Cadet Command. Prior to his current position he was the Director of Quality Assurance for Training at the Maneuver Support Center, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Dr. Swain has two children, three grandchildren and is married to the former Sharon O'Donoghue of Charlotte, NC.
