By: Ali Engerran
While in South Korea I have had the chance to indulge fully into Korean cuisine. My first time tasting Korean food was the night before we left for South Korea. The first thing I noted about the food was how spicy it was. I'm not accustomed to eating spicy food so this was a first for me. I found that Korean food consists mainly of rice, noodles, soups, tofu, and meat; all of which I enjoy. South Korean food is known for the number of side dishes that are included in a meal....read more

By: Ali Engerran
I was excited to learn more about the Korean culture by staying with a Korean family for one night. My host family consisted of a female ROK ROTC cadet, her mother, and their adorable dog. During my homestay I was able to communicate with and form a friendship with my host ROK ROTC cadet, Jessica. Also it was nice to be able to enjoy a home cooked Korean meal. My host family was extremely warm and welcoming, and I feel very privileged to have been given the opportunity to experience Korean...read more
