I grossly overestimated my ability to keep up with a blog while preparing my company for deployment. It has been an extremely hectic three months. As a commander, not only do you have to prepare yourself but you also have to track all the minutae that can possibly make a Soldier a non- or late-deployer. Change of Command

Today is definately one of those bittersweet days. Our Battalion Commander was frocked to Colonel and we had a change of command. A promotion is always special and being promoted to a full-bird colonel shows the Department of the Army has just as much faith in his leadership abilities as we, his Soldiers have in him. It is sometimes hard to believe that this is actually my life. I am a commander of troops. Wow.
