By: Christopher Lenington
Well I have not posted in a while but wanted to get back in the grove after R&R. Leave was great and really enjoyed some good times with my family and friends. We went to Gattlinburg, TN and had a great time in that area, and I would recomend that everyone go down or up to the Smoky Mountains at least once in their life, just don't go on July 4th like we did. Now that was a crazy time down there, it was like going to Las Vegas just smaller. Well trying to get back to the grind after...read more

The secret power of Soldiers during Deployment-SUPERHERO'S

By: Christopher Lenington
Ok well there is a significant change of a person during his deployment overseas, and it is for the good of the person and unit. When you first arrive overseas, start working, and get into the grind of things a person changes to a new person, you turn into a superhero. A person can do PT in the morning, and work his butt off during that PT session, then turn and go out for a Patrol or do a mission that will carry him up a mountain or around the country fighting the enemy. Then come home...read more

A diffrent job

By: Christopher Lenington
Well I have had a different job since I have been in Afghanistan, I have been the Task Force Commanders Personnel Security Officer and it has been a pretty good job so far. I have been flying around in a UH-60 everywhere, and it has been diffrent. All other time's I have been overseas I have been in a Combat Outpost running missions on foot or by wheeled vehicle. But there is the other side to the story that most people could not even think about, its the keeping your eye on the...read more

Open discussion on Replacing the ACU

By: Christopher Lenington
Most don't realize this, but the argument about the uniforms has been going on for a while now, can anybody think of how many times we have changed battle uniforms since the Armys creation? It has been many. My opinion is, I belive that we need to think of our future. Where are we most likely to be fighting or providing assistance in the coming years? The ACU is not the best out there for those places. If there is one thing that the Army is good at is to adjust...read more

By: Christopher Lenington
Well let me tell you this is a first for me, blogging....really, well I think this will be a good time to spread some good stories. I am a SSG in the Infantry about to deploy again, and I am ready to get this show on the road. For all of you out there that think it gets easier over time to leave your family it does not, but you as a person and soldier just don't show it as much. Not sure if you get a tougher skin, or what but my wife asked me why I was not as shaken up as last time, well...read more
