After spending three weeks with the FBI's Crisis Negotiations Unit we headed over to the tactical side of the house with the Hostage Rescue Team or HRT. HRT and the negotiations unit work closely together under the Tactical Section of the Critical Incident Response Group and deploy together to high profile cases. After two weeks in the classroom we finished the FBI’s National Crisis Negotiation Course. Now it was time to put what we learned into practice. We spent a week working with the instructors of the course, the Crisis Negotiation Unit or CNU, on a variety of topics.
