So today marks the ending of the 2011 USAMU Action Shooting Junior Clinic! Another successful year, with all of the junior shooters leaving with more knowledge and better skills than what they showed up with.

Every year since 2008 the USAMU Action Shooting Team has hosted a Junior shooters clinic, where we get young shooters from across the country to come to Ft. Benning and learn from the USAMU Action Shooting Team. It is also a big recruiting tool that we use to...read more

This past weekend members of the Action Shooting Team went to Warsaw, IN to compete in the Indiana Section Championship. SGT Dimaculangan, PV2 Sweeney, and myself all arrived on friday, 29 July. It gave us a day or two to settle in and relax before shooting the match. We went out to the range on Saturday to look at all of the stages and begin our game plans before shooting on Sunday. From the looks of the stages, it was going to be a great match. The stages were...read more

This past weekend the USAMU Action Shooting Team held its third Junior Clinic! We bring in junior shooters from all over the country, whether they are brand new at the sport or are experienced shooters, and let them train under the instructors from the Action Shooting Team. Those instructors include SSG Travis Tomasie, SSG Daniel Horner, SGT Lee Dimaculangan, PV2 Tyler Payne, and myself. We each come up with our own topic to teach the juniors and we conduct a two hour class...read more

This year the 2010 USPSA Nationals were held out in Las Vegas, NV. Myself and the rest of the Action Shooting Team from the USAMU arrived out there on Thursday, the 7th of October. It was good because we had a day to relax before our match got underway. This years Nationals were stacked with all the top shooters in every division from all across the country. The Open/L10 match was up first, with open being my primary division! Tensions were high!

This past weekend members of the USAMU Action Shooting Team shot the IPSC Nationals in South Carolina. This match is used as a World Shoot Team Selection Match so tensions were high. Myself, SSG Travis Tomasie, and SGT Lee Dimaculangan arrived Thursday afternoon and got a small look at a few of the stages.

Shooting started Friday morning. The stages were good solid stages, with a mixture of speed shoots and medium to long field coarses. With everyone pushing to be...read more

By: Shane Coley
This past weekend, SSG Tomasie, SGT Dimaculangan, and myself traveled to Dawsonville, GA to compete in the 2010 USPSA Georgia State Championship. The match turned out to be challenging, with many awkward positions and quite a few partial targets, making accuracy very important.

The match started off rather smoothly for me, with only one minor mistake. We shot 4 stages during the morning and they turned out to be acceptable. Shortly after lunch, my accuracy started...read more

As SGT Dimaculangan said in his previous post, the 2010 USPSA Area 8 Championship was a very challenging match.

"Gaming" the stages of this match was very challenging, and did not allow anyone to make to many mistakes. The purpose of this sport is to navigate your way through a coarse of fire with consistent speed and accuracy, and equality between the two. These stages challenged us in every aspect of our shooting knowledge.
