					In 2007, I joined the Army Reserve Officers Training Corps, for the same reasons that most people join. I wanted to serve my country as an officer, and needed the scholarship to pay for my college education. Considering those two facts, ROTC was the only logical option. I enrolled without hesitation, knowing that I was committing myself to years of military service. I didn&amp;#39;t anticipate the many ways ROTC would improve my life.
