By: Thomas Olsowy
Article 1 of the Code of Conduct states: “I am an American, fighting in the forces which guard my country and our way of life. I am prepared to give my life in their defense.” Since I first took the Oath of Enlistment in 1987 and subsequently the Oath of Office, I have never doubted my willingness or preparedness to live up to that statement. I have fought in Iraq during three deployments, have been wounded in combat, decorated for valor, and am heading to Afghanistan later this...read more

On Monday, 25 Oct 2010, I had the privilege of attending the Sergeant Major of the Army Luncheon on the first day of the AUSA Convention and sharing the company of a group of the best NCOs and Soldiers in our Army. 24 of these distinguished NCOs and Soldiers recently completed the demanding Best Warrior Competition at Fort Lee, VA, which served as the final gate in their journey to earn the prestigious title of NCO and Soldier of the Year. SFC Parker earned the medal in 3 Position Rifle, SFC Uptagrafft outshot all but one of the competitors, and SFC Szarenski claimed Silver in the 50m Pistol event. I could not be more proud of these NCOs.

By: Ronald Tuczak
I have been back at Fort Bragg for some time following 2 1/2 years growing our Army in the Greater Philadelphia and New Jersey area. It is great being back in Special Forces and back at mighty Fort Bragg. So much has changed in the 4 years that have past since I was last assigned here!

The Army is clearly investing in FT Bragg as they have new barracks everywhere, FORSCOM 4 Star HQs being built, and plenty of Soldiers. I went to Camp Mackall where they train our...read more

Greetings All! Hello again from Mid Atlantic U.S.A.

As mentioned before, I have been in the Army for over 26 years and for nearly the last two years I have been away from the flagpole in Army Recruiting. It has been a very exciting, memorable, and rewarding time. One unique aspect of this experience was that, for the first time in my lengthy career, I truly did not live on or near a major Army installation. Not to degrade FT Dix, FT Monmouth or Picitinny Arsenal, New Jersey but, they just...read more

I had a truly amazing experience about a month ago. As the Guest Speaker at the Fort Monmouth Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Luncheon I was working feverishly to ensure I did not put to sleep my audience. We were chanting Army Strong, watching videos and sharing some interesting Recruiting Stories. Yes, even in Recruiting we have our “War Stories”.

I enlisted in the Army while still in High School in Livonia, Michigan in 1983. We were going through a recession as well and I wanted to chart my own life. I joined for college money and my signing bonus was $5!
