By: Steven Convery
After 4 amazing weeks, I have finally returned back to West Point from San Francisco, California. I learned a lot over the last four weeks, and I think that I grew as a person throughout the experience, too.

Everyday in Mountain View, we sat with the ads team,...read more

Leadership Lessons From. . . Google

By: Steven Convery
For the last three weeks, I have been living in San Francisco, California and working at Google in Mountain View, California. While the drastic change in surrounding initially caused a small culture shock, as I have began to settle in I have realized that many aspects of Google are not all that different from the Army. At first this may sound crazy, but I hope that as I elaborate on it, you will agree.
At the end of last week we had the privilege of meeting one on one with a senior manager...read more

How did you pull that off?

By: Steven Convery
That is the question that I would hear every time I told someone about the last portion of my summer: A month long internship at Google where I would live in San Francisco and work out of the Mountain View “Googleplex”. It was an easy one to answer; I would explain the AIAD system, point out that Google has a veterans network and a summer internship program, and explain the interview and scheduling processed involved. The next question, which would inevitably come, was more...read more
